After a 2-5 roady, the Phillies return home to wrap up the first half of the season with three games against the first-place Braves.  The last time these two teams met was in early June as the Braves swept the Phillies out of Turner Field.  Heading towards the All-Star break, the Phils find themselves in third place in the NL East, five games out of first.  Tonight, All-Star Roy Halladay (9-7, 2.42) will look to get back on track after going the distance in a 4-3 loss on Wednesday at Cincinnati.  Halladay gave up two costly home runs on a career-high 13 hits.  Way back on April 21, Halladay threw a five-hit shutout against the Braves where he struck out eight.  Atlanta counters with a familiar foe in Derek Lowe (9-6, 4.53).  On May 7, the Phillies offense scored seven runs on 11 hits over just five innings.  You may recall that was the same night that age-less wonder Jamie Moyer threw a complete game two-hitter.  After the game, Chipper Jones simply said "I'm embarrassed."  Despite his struggles in early May, Lowe is 7-2 lifetime against the Phillies.

As the first half of the season winds down, this week looms huge for both clubs.  The Braves have the opportunity to really put the pressure on the rest of the division.  For Philly, a five game gap in the standings can be cut to two in a hurry with a sweep.  The weather is supposed to be hot and sticky this week in South Philly, often referred to by Charlie Manuel as "hittin' weather."  Perhaps the combination of some home cookin' and "hittin' weather" could be just the recipe to cure the Phillies offensive woes.

Drabek Dominates:  Former Phillies prospect Kyle Drabek threw a no-hitter on Sunday with Double-A New Hampshire (affiliate of the Blue Jays).  Drabek was acquired by Toronto as part of the Roy Halladay trade in December.
