This afternoon, Phillies right fielder Jayson Werth addressed last night's encounter with a fan in the stands. Werth said he knew there was "some backlash" from the incident and that he "felt bad for the guy and kid." In addition, Werth added that he acted "out of character" and that it's something that happened and he's "moved on."

they are just all beyond frustrated right now

That is not an apology. Shame on you, Jayson Werth.

This is getting blown way out of proportion. So what IF Werth dropped the F-Bomb in front of little Johnny's poor tender ears. I got the word flung at me hundreds of times a day from old man Bronze Balls McGinty himself. Didn't hurt me one bit. In the long run, that kid will be thanking Jayson for teaching him a valuable life lesson. And at least JW didn't pull Ichiro's pervy move of stroking the kids leg and then walking away while "wicking the diddle"!:

LOL who ever said its not an apology you can screw yourself. it IS an apology. he just doesn't spend too much time dwelling on such a small matter because he's a pro.

hes still a poor excuse for a role model. To the guy who could care less if he dropped the f bomb on a fan in front of his kids. You obviously are immature and don't have any children. I have no respect for Werth at this point. Good BB player I acknowledge but bad character. Who wants that sort of cancer on any team? There are 20 other players in the league as good if not better then Werth.
