You probably already knew that, but a number of folks have tipped us off to Giants fans’ response to Steve Smith’s Facebook post… which said:
I will always cherish my time in NY and the super bowl victory.. Everyone has to realize that this is about Steve stabbing us in the back. If it was just about $$ he could have gone anywhere, but he chose the Filthedelipha PIGS!! You know - while I could only imagine what Jayson Werth’s Facebook page might have looked like in December – Philly fans have been painted with such a broad brush stroke, that I think we are very conscious about the way we are perceived and generally wouldn’t respond – in mass – with such vitriol. Sure, we boo and yell and bring signs, but even our nonstop lampooning of Werth isn’t done with such violent anger, it’s more a tongue-in-cheek take on him choosing money over winning (something most of us would do, anyway). There are 5,000 comments on Smith’s Facebook post. 5,000. Most of them are negative… a good amount are violent. New York, ladies and gentlemen.

In other Eagles wide receiver news, Howard Eskin is reporting that Jeremy Maclin is in St. Louis today meeting with doctors to figure out what the hell is wrong with him.
Earlier this week, Maclin denied the “career-threatening” illness conjecture that was irresponsibly thrown out on the web. However, this is getting to a very serious and odd place.
Obviously, we wish Maclin the best.
