President Graham Spanier canceling today’s press conference (when Joe Pa said he wanted to speak) actually helped Paterno, in a way. It’s now Joe vs. the administration– that’s a battle the administration is going to lose.
It doesn’t mean Paterno is going to keep his job, but it certainly gave some folks reason to sympathize with him.
