Sold out stadiums, merchandise all over the country, insane television ratings, and takeovers of other parks sure help.

The Phillies were valued at $609 million last year, the sixth-highest total in baseball and a 13 percent increase over 2010, according to Forbes.

Forbes said the Phillies had $249 million in revenue in 2011, but they were in the red in operating income by $11.6 in million.

 

They had a 19 percent increase in value, putting them at $723 million. Regardless of operating incoming decreasing, all is well for the organization. Value went up and revenues are high.

Keep in mind that the value will only skyrocket even more once they sign a new television deal in 2015 (their contract with CSN expires). The idea of the team launching their own network was even kicked around.

Now, if they could only get their right side of the infield, well, on the field…
