The Iron Pigs are taking some cues from the marketing wizards over in Reading and are adding a new uniform to their rotation this year. Behold the powder blue and maroon pullover:

From the release:

The IronPigs will don a powder blue and burgundy retro mesh jersey during Sunday home games this season, paying homage to the Phillies' tradition-rich teams of the 1970s and 1980s and marking the first significant uniform change since the IronPigs debuted in 2008.

This pullover jersey features the primary IronPigs logo emblazed on the left chest to modernize the classic powder blue and burgundy look.  Its mesh composition promotes breathability and provides additional comfort for players and fans alike.

"This is an iconic color scheme and one that IronPigs fans and Phillies fans collectively adore," remarked IronPigs General Manager Kurt Landes. "We think our fans are going to squeal over this fresh new look!"

HEYYO (!!!)

You can pre-order the jersey, but no actual product images are available yet… and, really, they’re going to make all the difference: Too dark, and it looks like a cheap knockoff of a throwback Phillies jersey. Too light, and it’s a baby bib.

I actually like the home Baseballtown Fightins jerseys better. They’re growing on me for some reason. They’re original. The Iron Pigs Sunday jerseys seem forced, and there's something missing on the front.
