Michael Vick is Now a Jet and DeSean Jackson is Probably Getting Traded

Good evening. The Eagles are going to look very different next season.

The Jets signed Michael Vick to a one-year deal shortly after releasing Mark Sanchez. The deal is reported to be worth $5 million.

Meanwhile, DeSean Jackson is probably getting traded. Tim McManus first reported that two sources close to DeSean, presumably reliable ones, said that Jackson doesn’t expect to be an Eagle next year. And now Jeff McLane is reporting that the Eagles are actively shopping D-Jac:

The Eagles have intensified their efforts to trade Pro Bowl wide receiver DeSean Jackson in the last week, according to three independent NFL sources.

While there have been earlier reports that teams reached out to inquire about Jackson, in several cases it has been the Eagles that have directly or indirectly shopped the wide receiver to gauge interest, two of the sources said.

While all this has been going on, DeSean has been tweeting pleas(?) about his future destination.

Earlier reports said that the Eagles were seeking at lease a third round pick for DeSean, but McLane reports that they may not even get that… which makes no sense for a team that could contend for a Super Bowl next season.

  1. Wait, what team is going to compete for a Super Bowl next season?

  2. The chip kelly to USC in 2015

  3. at least*

  4. Tim McManus > Collen Woof

  5. I don’t get how they could do this trade without at least a 2nd round pick, possible late 1st. His off the field issues weren’t thaaatttttt bad….

  6. If it aint broke...

This is the one of the stupidest moves this organization could make (Djax, not vick). A team that, with a few good defensive draft picks, could be a bonafide super bowl contender for the next few years — TRADE THEIR TOP RECEIVER?? ONE OF THE MOST DYNAMIC IN THE GAME? IN THE PRIME OF HIS FUCKING CAREER? Djax opened the field for the rest of the recievers last year, is almost always a deep threat. And with the addition of Sproles, this offense has the potential to be historic. WHY MESS WITH THAT?? And whats worse, to get a measley 3rd round pick? Maybe not even that?? Idc how much he makes, thats absolutely absurd. Not to mention that this almost definitley means were going to have to waste our fucking 1st round pick on a wideout. Maybe if we use him as an bargaining chip to trade up and maybe get one of thr safeties? Still, even that would seem like going around the river, rather than using the bridge to get to their destination.

This only makes even a little sense if theres something SERIOUSLY wrong going on behind the scenes with him. And if that’s the case and hes traded, the eagles better be damn sure they fucking tell us.

I can’t agree more. I think the media has a hand in helping to push DeSean out of town. His house got robbed and they made like it was his fault. Nothing like blaming the victim.

      • Hey, asshole, there were rumors Jackson was going to get traded to the Dolphins immediately after the team lost to New Orleans this season before his house got robbed.

There are substantiated reports that the Eagles shopped him on draft day last year. How does the media spinning the story of his house being robbed have anything to do with trade rumors and the Eagles shopping him in April a full 9 months before he was robbed?

  7. Contend for a Super Bowl against Seattle and San Fran? I don’t think so. Defenses catch up.

  8. Sanchez is our backup QB

    March 21, 2014 at 9:08 pm

What are the odds that Sanchez is our backup QB next year?

  9. Insert clever handle

    March 21, 2014 at 9:26 pm

We don’t want a receiver who get drunk and makes an ass out of himself at a concert on camera. Oh wait, that wasn’t DeSean was it.

  10. trading jackson would be the second worst move in this franchises history. right behind letting reggie white go in free agency.

one player and one player only allowed the offense to do what it did last year. not cooper not not mccoy not vick not foles. Jackson is where the offense begins and ends.

  11. Send Djax to China on a Good Will Tour.
The Commies would understand his chatter.
If we get lucky he could disappear in Mooochelle’s black hole.

  12. Martinez's Upper Lip

    March 21, 2014 at 10:13 pm

I have a feeling chip Kelly will be another Andy Reid… Trying to be the smartest guy in the room but end up losing. They have no choice but to trade desean now. Way to f up what could be a great 2014 season. Oh and I’d love to taste Monica Malpass

  13. Can we do anything in town right. Woodson almost cost the Sixers a shot at the 27th straight loss record by pulling his starters late in the game. Unfortunately the 27th is against the woeful Pistons. Sixers next three on road against Bulls, San Antonio and Houston Rockets. If any of those three lose to Sixers at home the entire team needs to be tarred and feathered. We can’t win a Super Bowl so can this city at least be proud of something. 27 losses in a row might stand for decades. It’s really hard to lose 27 straight with as many bad teams as there are in the NBA right now. When the Sixers return home for the 27th next Saturday against the Pistons all the national sports media will be focused on the Sixers. It’s an historical game. Stand up and cheer. It will take our mind off giving away DeSean Jackson for a bag of jumping beans.

  14. Catch a damned pass

    March 21, 2014 at 10:36 pm

He’s not a team player, that’s why. He’s a loser and a bum. Auf wiedersehen.

  15. Getting rid of D Jack for nothing, that’s some Bill Belichick shit right there

  16. This is more retarded than John Bolaris thinking those two Russian chics just wanted to bang.. I’m all for In Chip We Trust, but there better be some serious plans in place if Jackson is traded. Anything worse than a top 3 offense next year and this potential trade is a disaster… Not to mention I would have to replace a Kelly Green Anniversary Jersey and a black third jersey… #10mode

  17. How do I apply for unemployment?

  18. Clean the sand out of your vaginas.

Jackson was a shity reciever in 2011 and 2012. He had a very good year last year. The guy is a douchebag who quits on his team constantly (see 2011 and 2012 and the game Barkley had to play in when jackson sat next to his man crush Vick on the bench and pouted with him).

Amazing how Chip Kelly could do no wrong in this town because he had an easy schedule and everything broke his way and now that he’s actually making a ballsy move and cleaning up the “culture” of this team everyone hates his guts.

    hypocrites all of you.

    • If it aint broke...

      March 22, 2014 at 11:39 am

Oh go fuck yourself you self righteous pile of trash. Incase you didnt notice, the entire team was a fuckin disaster in 2011 and 2012. Yeah he admitted that he gave up on plays those years but you can’t just swipe his career year in 2013 under the rug simply because hes immature. Do you even remember the TO debacle, you fuckin hypocrite? This offense isnt one of the best in the league last year without Jackson. His dynamic ability, coupled with his speed and potential to be a deep threat every play, opened up the field for Cooper, Ertz, Celek, and even McCoy. You dont just trade a guy like that for a bag of kicking tees unless A) theres something seriously the matter in the background AND B) you have a solid plan to replace him. The guy is one of the top 10 best receivers in the league and hes in the prime of his career, in an offense that can have historic potential with the addition of sproles. Youre only one or two draft picks/signings on defense away from being able to legitimately contend for a championship for a few years, and you want trade the linchpin of this offense simply because hes a premadonna? Sure, makes sense. Yeah, were all hypocrites while you, being the moral and intellectual arbiter that you are, have for years been requesting that we trade the likes of Iverson, Roenick, TO, Rollins, etc. because theyre immature assholes. Yeah. Makes sense in hindsight, doesn’t it? Good day and go fuck yourself.

      • Mike Missanelli's Heart

        March 22, 2014 at 1:12 pm

He is a one dimensional midget who pouts when things don’t go his way. Top 10?? Please.

        • If it aint broke...

          March 22, 2014 at 2:48 pm

Oh yeah, forgive me, im completely misguided. Its not like he almost broke Mike Quicks yards record last year or anything. Yeah, youre right. One dimensional. How could I be so stupid. I didnt know drawing double coverage, catching passes in the middle, and having lightning speed that allows him to be a deep threat and a return threat at anytime equalled one dimensional. Also, one dimensional players definitley make the pro bowl at two positions in one year. Youre right. A one dimensional midget. Youre a delusional mental midget, you fucking imbecile.

  19. Oh and what a shame that asshole Ron Mexico is out of town….

  20. The Thugs are Gone!

    March 22, 2014 at 7:15 am

Roseman has said several times, “after 4 straight very good drafts we will be ready to contend, we have 2 (as of last year’s).” Draft defense and the future slot receiver to fit Chips system. And jaccpot can watch n bet against the Eagles in Super Bowl fitty, come on one time gimme a fizzle my rizzle jaccpot ya heard..Beat it jackass.

  21. Not raccoons you idiot!

    March 22, 2014 at 8:09 am

Yup let’s burn a giant lower case t on their lawns for time to leave

  22. Kyle,

Thank you for your tweet to Marcus Vick last night.

    That is all.

  23. If teams are only offering a 3rd round pick for DeSean, that is very telling. That means that his reputation around the league is not good. His stats are good, but maybe they don’t tell the whole story.

A few possible/probable reasons for seeking to trade him:

    1. The Eagles have their eyes on a legit game-breaking receiver in the draft (and one that is more physically-imposing than #10).
    2. They are looking to add draft picks. This part would be a no-brainer except I don’t see why a 3rd rounder would sound more valuable than having DeSean on the roster this season.
    3. Salary cap space for the future. Foles is coming in at a bargain basement price this year, but they are probably going to need to pay him a lot of money after this season. They seem to want to lock up their core players to long-term deals (smart), and DeSean’s contract would hinder that sooner than later.
    4. He has simply worn out his welcome.
    5. All of the above.

I do hope they find a way to get more draft picks. This is a good draft class.

Philadelphia franchises are having a fire sale on selfish black athletes.

  25. A Piece of Shit

    March 22, 2014 at 5:43 pm

I looked in the mirror and saw DeSean Jackson in the reflection.

  26. This blog attracts a startling number of racists who lack the spine to say what they believe so they type it instead and hide. At what point does the blogger take responsibility for the comments? I don’t see this racist trash bullshit spewed anywhere but here. Why is that? Figure it out Kyle.

    • Hey Dunfee, fuck the hell off wit your anti-racist whining! I don’t need no white-ass clown whut can’t coach a shit team like temple fightin my battles for me.

Fuck you! If you wants to do sumpin for the brothas, then lern how to coach a fuckin basketball team, so sums of them can git a chance in the pros!

      • Sometimes people give me a label just because of my name.

If I don’t like, say, DeSean Jackson or Michael Vick, they call me this.

But if I don’t like, say, Alex Henery or Phil Martelli, can they still put that label on me?
