Last night, in his speech memorializing Robin Williams, Billy Crystal recounted a story about how Williams, who wasn’t a baseball fan, improvised as a Russian ballplayer while in the broadcast booth at a Mets game in 1989. Yahoo and Major League Baseball dug up that video today and, not surprisingly, it’s hilarious.

But that wasn’t Williams’ only baseball bit.

On October 30, 2008, during that memorable, surreal WFC week, Williams performed at the Tower Theater and opened with a 10-minute, seemingly improvised bit about the Phillies winning the World Series (“after 28 fucking years!”), the Phanatic, Upper Darby, baseball fans, Eagles fans (“you have the craziest fucking football fans in the world– you have a fucking judge in the basement of your stadium”), Michael Vick (pre-Eagles), and a joke about drunken celebrations and his alcoholism.

Here’s the audio, which was given to us by a friend of the site, on a CD-R. The quality is just OK, so you may need to turn up the volume:

Robin Williams: What a concept.
