Every year, to get fans hyped up for the MLB playoffs, the league produces a video. It’s usually some kind of montage of diving catches and home runs set to a terrible U2 song. That’s probably still on the way, and those are terrible. But the people at TBS, in order to hype up their own coverage of the post-season, brought in the big gun: Bryan Cranston. Cranston is one of our greatest living actors (in both comedy and drama) and he covers all the bases here. He plays Kirk Gibson, Carlton Fisk, Derek Jeter, and more. He does ballet with Pedro Martinez. He puts in a legitimiately good Ernie Johnson impression. And he delivers an honest-to-god heart wrenching rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.”

Even though the Phillies make me undeniably sad, this actually has me (a little) excited for post-season baseball where I’ve got no dog in the fight. It’s not quite Heisenberg in a Phillies jersey, or a record-setting run at the Wild Card, but it’s much better than those terrible Dane Cook “There’s only one October” videos from a few years back.
