Dom Brown, who was optioned to AAA Lehigh Valley yesterday after a less than stellar rehab stint, didn’t bother showing up to his game last night even though he was already in Lehigh Valley, because he technically has 72 hours to report to the team… he’s already on.

Scott Franzke and Larry Andersen broached the subject during their broadcast last night and, well, as you might imagine, LA laid into Brown over the course of several innings:

“That’s got to be a little bit of a, I guess, shock to Domonic. [Scott: Not reporting for 72 hours, as is his right.] WHAT? Let me help you, [Scott], with that.” – commercial break, inning passes – “I don’t know the reasons for it, but if there isn’t a very good reason, to me there’s no excuse for that. That’s just sending a message to the Phillies saying I don’t really care that much if I don’t play that much… you either want to play or you don’t… it’s not like he’s been tearing the cover off the ball. You can learn something every day you go to the ballpark, but to not do it, he gets optioned out… he should be just thrilled to death, through arbitration he gets a $2 million raise for basically having one good month in his career.”

And boom goes that dynamite.

Meanwhile, today Major League Baseball unveiled its All-Star ballot… which includes one Domonic Brown, oh he of no MLB at-bats this season and a seemingly childish decision-making process. I just smell a Twitter movement to screw with this voting process.
