An entire day’s Tweets, quotes and observations, in one easy to digest meal.

There’s a cornerback battlePhilly.com:

Shepherd isn’t settling for the nickel corner role. He wants to start on the outside and said that he has as good a chance as any of the competitors. “Hell, yeah. It’s open, baby,” Shepherd said. “No job is taken yet, and that’s the way I’m going to attack it. Regardless of how many [defensive backs] we have in the room, I know I’m going for a starting spot.”

Eric Rowe had some hiccups in the road this offseasonBGN:

“He’s learning a new defense and new techniques this year from [Schwartz’s defense]. And there were some hiccups in the road a little bit this offseason and he was pulled back a little bit, but you just want to see that growth and that development with any player on your roster.”

Sam Bradford and Carson Wentz are bonding. Philly.com:

So on Monday, when 38 Eagles rookies and select vets took the field for the first practice of training camp, and Bradford and Wentz spoke with reporters for the first time in six weeks, we eventually discussed paddle-boarding. Not its future as a possible Olympic sport, or the techniques involved in navigating swells, but the fact that when Bradford was asked if he has gotten to know Wentz, Bradford volunteered that he and Wentz pursued this activity together, along with the other dozen Eagles who gathered earlier this month in San Diego to train and bond.

Isaac Seumalo will have to play catch up due to the graduation rule. Philly Mag:

One rookie who may play right away is third-round pick Isaac Seumalo. The Oregon State offensive lineman, whom Pederson says faces a “little bit” of an uphill battle because he missed most of the spring practices due to the graduation rule, is focusing on learning left guard during training camp. Seumalo appears to be one of three main contenders for the starting job with Allen Barbre and Stefen Wisniewski.

Bradford is ahead of where he was last year. Philly Voice:

Today, in his first practice of training camp, Bradford took a snap from under center, tripped over one of his offensive linemen’s feet, regained his balance, turned his body, and fired a completion to the sideline. Having observed him for a full training camp in 2015, I do not think that is a play he would have made a year ago.

I believe he’ll get off to a better start to the season than he did a year ago, although, obviously, that is not at all a high bar.

Meet the “Green Goblin.” NJ.com:

Eagles rookie cornerback Jalen Mills has been turning heads with his play since being selected in the seventh round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

On Monday, he let his hair do the talking as well.

Mills was sporting neon green hair during the team’s first practice of training camp on Monday, a look that has earned him a new nickname with his teammates.

Fly now.
