UPDATE: The first two preseason games will also air on CSN, which makes a lot more sense. No idea why NBC 10 would post a story promoting the Cozi TV broadcast. You can continue to not know what Cozi TV is.

I wrote the headline like that strictly for SEO purposes, because thousands of people are going to be frantically scrambling to figure where in the hell the Eagles game is when the Birds TAKE FLIGHT against the Bucs on August 11 and then the Steelers on August 18.

They’re playing on Cozi TV, an NBC-owned network that usually airs classic TV shows in 4:3. It’s unknown if the network even broadcasts in HD.

From NBC 10:

Don’t fret Eagles fans, you can still catch every moment of Birds preseason action even when the Rio Olympics are airing on NBC10.

You can tune into Cozi TV to watch the Eagles preseason opener at Lincoln Financial Field on Aug. 11 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Eagles’ Aug. 18 game against the Steelers in Pittsburgh. Both games are at 7 p.m.

The channels are as follows:

  • Comcast – channel 248
  • Verizon – 460
  • RCN Corp – 28
  • Service Electric – 110, 114
  • Cablevision 109, 688
  • Armstrong -92
  • Over the air – 10.2

Not a huge deal, assuming Cozi can broadcast an HD signal. But this is yet another local event that NBC 10 has won the rights to broadcast even though they are unable to, you know, broadcast it.

Earlier this month, Welcome America was bastardized and held to some weird tape delay because NBC 10 already had the rights, and obligation, to air the national broadcast form New York. Last spring, NBC 10 got the rights to Eagles preseason games. Never mind that this year they have to shove two of them to some channel you never heard of.
