Over the last three years, the Sixers have driven many fans to drink. Not in an “oh yeah this is awesome, get me another beer” way, but in a “Phil Pressey? PHIL PRESSEY?!?!?” way. This season should change that, and maybe you’ll want to class up your drink of choice.

Chaddsford Winery is partnering with the Sixers for their Banner Series, an offering of three wines honoring each of the Sixers’ NBA Championships. 10% of proceeds from each bottle sold will be donated to the Sixers Youth Foundation, and only 76 cases will be produced of each wine.

As the wine people explain about the first offering:

Chaddsford Winery has proudly partnered with the Philadelphia 76ers to honor their legendary history and prepare to celebrate the exciting years ahead. This is the first wine in a three-part “Banner Series,” dedicated to the Sixers 1982-83 NBA Championship Team. Players on that Championship Team included iconic NBA legends Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Moses Malone, and Maurice “Mo” Cheeks. Crafted as an exclusive red cellar blend, the Sixers 82-83 Banner Series Wine showcases soft integrated tannins that merge nicely with notes of raspberry, black cherry, and a hint of black pepper and oak. Each bottle in the 76 cases produced has been hand-numbered to create a one-of-a kind, commemorative keepsake. Go Sixers!

But here’s the more important part:

Chips and burgers and pizza party and maybe some Sixers wins? I’m in.

Post-Script: Seeing how this ownership group has done things, I’m a little surprised they didn’t pair with someone to make a $200 bottle of vintage wine and announce it on Forbes.
