A little birdie tells me that John Boruk may replace Tim Panaccio on Flyers coverage at CSN (or at least fulfill some of the latter’s former duties).

Boruk will take a multi-faceted approach to covering the team, taking his talents (and patterned suits) to the airwaves and web to pick up the very short amount of slack left behind by Panotch after he was let go by the network earlier this month. It seems there could be more analysis than straight reporting.

Boruk, an anchor, has long sort of fancied himself a hockey guy and has done a lot of work on the Flyers. He also hosted Postgame Live. Indeed, he’s been tweeting almost exclusively about them this month:

As we’ve discussed before, CSN is trying to shift its focus to a one newsroom approach where talent is expected to be more versatile than longtime employees who came from traditional TV backgrounds, many of whom have been let go over the last year or so. It’s unclear how much Boruk will travel with the team – Panaccio’s travel had been cut back in recent years – and his coverage, I’m told, will be buoyed by contributions from Jordan Hall, who does Flyers web stuff.
