There seems to be quite a bit of chatter surrounding Bears cornerback Kyle Fuller and the Eagles. Fuller had an outstanding rookie year in 2014, recording 64 tackles, four interceptions and three-forced fumbles. But he regressed in his second year and then missed all of last season after an arthroscopic knee surgery last summer. Apparently John Fox hates him.

Last week, ESPN Bears writer Jeff Dickerson wrote that Fuller could either be traded or not make the team:

I left Kyle Fuller off the list because I wouldn’t be surprised if Chicago tries to trade him in the preseason. That being said, Fuller looked good in the offseason program, so if he’s still around, he could crack the 53.

And now today, several have floated the possibility of the Eagles trading for him:

As did Bleeding Green Nation’s Brandon Lee Gowtown, who speculated the following:

We know the Eagles had some level of interest in Fuller at some point. He was one of six players Philadelphia wanted in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft. It’s also worth noting that vice president of player personnel Joe Douglas spent a year with the Bears so he has some familiarity there. So does Eagles director of pro scouting Dwayne Joseph, who was with the Bears when Fuller was drafted.

Chicago is missing their third and fourth round picks in the 2018 NFL Draft. Meanwhile, the Eagles own three fourth round picks this year. Maybe the Eagles can trade one of those to the Bears for Fuller plus Chicago’s sixth or seventh round selection. The Eagles would jump down two rounds in order to get a potential starting corner.

And thus you have your most exciting training camp news. The rest of it is just overanalyzing the over-analyzation of Doug Pederson’s comments or feel good stories about such and such trying to make the team.
