Here’s Adam Caplan on 97.5 yesterday– transcribed by Brandon Lee Gowton at Bleeding Green Nation:

I think, in the end here, Wendell Smallwood, I’ll give you another statement, he’s that important to what they do this season. I mean, I didn’t think it would be this big if you asked me a week ago, but the more information I gather on Blount, the more I understand that he’s no lock to make the football team. Again, if you were to ask me a week ago, I’d probably say ‘Ah, he’s going to make it. I don’t see it being an issue.’ But … bad preseason game, just, weight not great, I’ve just been checking in to some things.

Here’s what I wrote when they signed Blount and EVERYBODY WAS SO EXCITED THIS SOLVES THE RUNNING GAME:

Signing a guy like Blount is exactly the sort of thing Dream Team Howie would do, and I thought that guy was dead or at least locked in an airplane bathroom somewhere.

Also, Blount will probably get hurt. I bet you he doesn’t play in more than six games.

I don’t think Blount will get cut (yet), if only because he hasn’t had much of a chance to show what he can do in Doug Pederson’s dynamic (…) offense. So I’m saving most of my crow serving until he fully flames out, at which point I will eviscerate all of the dickwads who shredded me over my reaction. And as I write this:

NOW I REALLY CAN’T WAIT.
