Roy-halladay-ap2

With an arm like this, who needs bat-grenades?

When watching Roy Halladay size up our opponent's offense, does anyone else envision an image of Batman, perched on the ledge of a skyscraper, gazing over the city of Gotham? Ok, maybe it's just me. The bottom line is that in a matter of 3 starts, Doc has become the pitcher we entrust with warding off villians and cementing our high hopes of victory.

Tonight, as he prepares to face right-hander Tim Hudson and the Atlanta Braves, the city of Philadelphia is breathing a little easier. Yes, especially after that God-awful ninth inning display last night.

Last May, while with the Blue Jays, Halladay managed seven scoreless innings against the Braves during interleague play.

For those who were fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to watch yesterday's game, you may have seen Roy in familiar form, staring intently at each batter and presumably devising a plan of action. Even when not on the mound, he is a competitor through and through.

With adequate support from Phillies offense, Halladay could be the most obvious solution to our recent woes.
