Harry Kalas

One year ago today, the baseball world lost one of its legendary voices, Harry Kalas. Kalas, who was a Phillies commentator since the opening of Veteran Stadium, called some of the most remembered games in Phillies history. He called the 500th home run of Hall of Fame third baseman, Mike Schmidt; He made the call during the final out of the 1993 NLCS; He made the call during the final out of the 2007 season, the same out that sent the Phillies into the playoffs for the first time since '93. One year later, CP Brad Lidge would drop to both knees in a celebratory fashion, and HK would announce that the final out was made and that the Phillies were the 2008, "World Champions of baseball."  Today, we remember Harry Kalas, our teams voice.
