In case you're keeping score, so far this week, the Phillies have been accused of stealing signs by the Rockies (and Mets), then Jeff Francouer complained about the extra home games, Flyers fans had condoms thrown at them in Boston, and now Mets fans continue to whine.  And it's only Thursday!

Toronto fans, who might be the only group of people with a legitimate beef against Philadelphia right now, haven't said a peep (at least that I've heard).  What is going on here?  It's like a first grade recess gone amok.

Today on "Mike Silva's Baseball Digest" (the "digest" moniker is soooo late 80's), Mike complain's about the Phillies and their alleged sign stealing by saying:

We first heard about the Phillies stealing signs back in 2007 when they
“mysteriously” knew what pitches were coming during a four game sweep
of the Mets in August.

Bottom line: the Phillies have been caught so it’s time to stop.

Of course, I don’t believe this will happen. Charlie Manuel already
has called the Rockies sore losers and accused the Mets of doing the
same thing. There really is nothing MLB will do about this (I am sure
the Phils are laughing at Bud Selig’s warning) and opposing teams will
just have to make adjustments.

Wahhhhh!!!  Oh my god, they are trying to explain away their EPIC collapse of '07 with sign stealing?  Give me a break.  According to Fox Sports, they are also using it to explain the shellacking (see also: Jail house assualt) we gave to Johan Santana last Sunday.

Dear Mets Fans (and the rest of the league for that matter),

No team in the NL has come close to competing with the Phillies over the last two years, and it has nothing to do with sign stealing.  I present to you exhibits A-I: Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, Roy Halladay, Cliff Lee, Brad Lidge, Jayson Werth, Charlie Manuel, and the Panamanian instinct of Carlos Ruiz <<<<<< all reasons why the Phillies have dominated over the last two years.

Get a clue.  And PLEASE stop whining.

Thanks.
