Vick's Madden rating for compassion might be a tad low, but he's a 99 in speed yo!

It appears that not only does Coach Reid like to constantly wear the gaudy ring that Brett Favre got him during their long-rumored Wisconsin romance (adjustable sizing feature included for weight fluctuations), but Favre also seemed to have left an indelible impression on Reid's personality, as he's now impersonating Favre's incomparably inconsistent and deceptive decision making ability by nominating Wally Pipp, I mean Kevin Kolb, the starter before Sunday's contest in Detroit, then reconfirming this appointment after the game and on Monday, only to then anoint Vick his long-term starter via an impromptu presser on a Tuesday night. Does the strange timing and posturing of this decision seem incredibly dramatic and potentially ill-conceived? Absolutely, but consider that this team had to fill its annual drama quota, and they've done so by Week 2, impressive work.

Here's the audio of the presser that we guerrilla-recorded in two parts; Download Reid-Vick presser 1, Download Reid-Vick presser 2. Enjoy the poor audio and soft sweet tones of Reid's gravelly baritone. That beeping noise you might pick up is the sound of Reid's truck backing up.

All of this misdirection from the Eagles' brass has led to some embarrassingly wasteful articles and long-winded perspectives as well just some good old ignorant conjecture amongst the fan base. I wrote about Vick coming to Philly some time ago for the Washington Post and essentially said that "If Vick can be utilized as a potent weapon for this team, the talk will quickly shift from morality to mobility. If he's no good, this won't have legs. But if he still has legs, this will be good." Well, the word on the street is dude does indeed have legs, really fast ones, and while the proclamations that Vick now possesses a truly refined pocket presence might well be premature, he certainly appears to be the best quarterback for this team, if not also on this team. We shall see, either way, the circus is back in town, and we all have front row seats.

I'm going to assume this isn't a Bobby Hoying jersey
