Charlie Manuel's Barber Was at Don Larsen's Perfect Game and Halladay's No-Hitter

You can’t make this shit up.

As soon as the final out was recorded the other night, I thought to myself, there has to be somebody who was at this game and Don Laren’s perfect game.

There are at least two people.  Dallas Green, who sat in the right field bleachers in 1956, and Charlie Manuel’s barber.  That’s right, Mike Fiore cuts Chuck’s hair and he was at the only two postseason no-hitters even thrown.  What else do you need in life?  [Philly.com]

Charlie Manuel knows the tale. He didn't know that Fiore was at the park Wednesday night, but the Phillies' manager said he knew Fiore had seen that Larsen game. Fiore is Manuel's barber, too.

"We talk about everything – including baseball," Manuel said Thursday after the Phillies' workout.

"He's very loyal," Fiore said of Manuel. "He could be on the road for two weeks, he'll wait [for a haircut] until he gets home."
