Chriscoste

If you've opted to watch the home-opening series from the warmth of your own home (or a crowded bar), you may have caught former Phillies catcher Chris Coste recapping the last two wins with Ricky Bottalico on Comcast SportsNet's Postgame Live.

The World Series ring-holder, once calling the pitches, is now trying his hand at examining them from an outsider's perspective. Although his contributions have been minor so far, and his uneasiness in front of the camera is almost palpable, it seems like Coste will be able to offer some deeper insight to complement Ricky Bo's standard dialogue.

Coste is currently recovering from Tommy John surgery but hopes to have another shot behind the plate in the near future.

Do you think Coste deserved to edge out Darren Daulton for this year's analyst position? Sure, Daulton may have offered some entertainment in the form of attire choices, but I think most fans are looking more for logical game breakdowns and less for outlandish end-of-the-world predictions.

What are your thoughts thus far?
