Not to be an alarmist, as the Phillies made it to their hotel safely last night, but it sounds like the team had a rough flight.

Less than a day after the tragic Russian plane crash that killed former Flyer Brad McCrimmon, the Phillies had an anxious flight of their own, even if the problems were only attributed to the air conditioning and weather. Jimmy Rollins and Vance Worley Tweeted about the lack of AC on the plane, then J-Roll™ and Mike Stutes said what an awful flight it was:

According to Flight Aware, the Phillies’ plane, a Delta 737 charter, was originally scheduled to land at General Mitchell International at 1:10 AM (all times listed will be eastern). But the website says they never made it there. Instead, the plane was diverted to Austin Straubel airport in Green Bay, 124 miles north of their intended target.

KGRB is Green Bay, in case you couldn't figure that out

Times listed in the email are both eastern and central:

No mention of diverting from the players (that I could find), but judging by the time difference between Rollins and Worley Tweeting about landing (around 1:50 AM) and J-Roll's™ Tweet that he got his bags at the hotel (3:21 AM), it looks like the Phillies had a bit of a drive before reaching their destination. Remember, they fly a charter, so there’s no waiting for bags, bus, etc. at the airport.

Flight Aware doesn’t give reasons for diverting, but there were some storms in the area and no planes landed at General Mitchell Aiprort between 1:13 AM and 5:45 AM, according to the site.

Glad to see they're safe and sound and ready to put the Brewers in their place.

UPDATE: There are now two different flight recordings for the Phillies' flight. One has them landing in Green Bay at 1:49 AM (eastern):

… the other has them landing in Milwaukee, their original destination…

Either way, they're in Wisconsin and will play tonight.
