We’ve all noticed how Bryz has both A) played better of late and B), judging by last night’s delightful interview following a 1-0 shutout and other recent comments, seemingly more at ease in front of a microphone.

Perhaps that trend will continue.

According to Tim Panaccio, a “Flyers leadership group” met with Bryz about him being a better teammate. Here’s what Danny Briere told Panotch:

“If he wants the guys to keep playing hard for him, he needs to be a great teammate, the way he has been lately."

Now, without knowing the context of that conversation, we’re not going to make too much of the Russian goalie needs to be good teammate for team to play hard comment… because, well, that’s not good. But, the fact that some members of the team (or organization) met with Bryz to talk about “being a good teammate,” tells you quite a bit.

Whether it was comments in which Bryz threw Braydon Coburn under the bus, or when he tipped Peter Laviolette’s hand before the Winter Classic, it’s clear that the sum of Bryz’s parts weren’t adding up to a very positive reception…  from anyone, both his teammates and fans. Maybe a recent meeting with a "leadership group" did the trick.

Here’s the test, though: The Flyers have been mostly on the road over the last two weeks, and perhaps it’s not a coincidence that Bryz’s best stretch as a Flyer has come during what was mostly a long road trip, without all that pesky media attention. Let’s see how things play out at home this week.

And, Danny, we’ll assume you guys are going to play hard whether you like your goalie or not. Please and thanks.
