Well this came out of nowhere.

97.5 The Fanatic and the Sixers announced today that they have entered into a multi-year agreement for games to be broadcast on the station, beginning with the first (and only?) round of the NBA playoffs.

From the press release IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS AND WITHOUT PUNCTUATION:

97.5 THE FANATIC TO AIR ALL PLAY-OFF GAMES THIS YEAR, STARTING THIS WEEKEND; GAMES TO BE SIMULCAST ON 950 ESPN RADIO TO BE ANNOUNCED PENDING RELEASE BY NBA OF PLAYOFF SCHEDULE

MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT FOR ALL 76ERS HOME AND AWAY GAMES TO BE BROADCAST ON 97.5 THE FANATIC, AND MANY TO BE SIMULCAST ON 950 ESPN RADIO

TOM MCGINNIS TO CONTINUE AS 76ERS PLAY-BY-PLAY BROADCASTER

BROADCASTS STARTING NEXT SEASON TO FEATURE A NEW 10 MINUTE PRE-GAME SHOW AND A 30 MINUTE POST-GAME SHOW WHICH WILL INCLUDE HEAD COACH DOUG COLLINS POST-GAME PRESS CONFERENCE

For a – very brief – period, 94.1 WIP had all four major sports on their air. Not anymore.
