What’s the deal with hip hop studios?! There are all these instruments… but nobody’s playing ‘em. It’s just guys, sittin’ around, throwin’ up gang signs and smokin’ weed. Where, is, the creative process?!

Jerry Seinfeld is at the point in his career where he can do whatever the hell he wants (deservedly so), and apparently what he wants to do is drop a beat. Well, sort of.

In a video posted to YouTube, Seinfeld said that he got a call from rapper Wale – his wife’s favorite hip hop artist – who wanted the comedian to “do something with him.” That something was to collaborate on a new album, appropriately called #Nothing, in which Wale will apparently turn Seinfeld’s words into song.

“I do words,” Seinfeld said on the video. “Why don’t you take my words and do something with them?”

The album was recorded in Philly, Seinfeld said in the video. We don’t know when, or where, but how did we miss the fact that one of the greatest comedians of our time was recording a hip hop album right under our noses?
