CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABOUT WHY KRISTEN WIIG KEEPS MAKING THE SAME MOVIES AS BRADLEY COOPER? First Bridesmaids (which was very good, but still no Hangover), and now Girl Most Likely, which is set in Ocean City, New Jersey, and is about a – stop me if this sounds familiar – person released from a psychiatric hospital who goes to live with [their] crazy family nearish to Philadelphia and all the ensuing cutesy moments that leads to that person ultimately rediscovering [their]self, perhaps through love.

Anyway, the trailer for WiIg’s movie, originally called Imogene, features a number of shots of Atlantic City and the Ocean City Boardwalk, including ones of Gillian’s, Mack & Manco (I will never call it Manco and Manco), and the big ferris wheel.

Like Silver Linings Playbook, whose story was originally set in New Jersey, it seems as though tax credit issues forced filming out of state. Silver Linings went to Delco, and principal photography for Girl Most Likely, which is coming out on July 19, seems to have taken place in, you guessed it, New York. So besides the exterior shots, much of the film was not shot in Ocean City: [Gloucester City News]

And while the soon to be released “Girl Most Likely” is set in Ocean City NJ, and features clips from the famous Jersey shore family resort, movie sites indicate it was actually filmed in New York and list beach town Broad Channel Queens, New York as a filming location.

So while there are a variety of reasons for choosing film locations, you can’t ignore potential impacts from Governor Christie’s cancellation of the film tax credit program in 2011, which came soon after controversy surrounding tax credits for MTV Reality show “The Jersey Shore”.

Thanks, Snooki.

But, despite the faux locale, the movie, like me, fights the switch to Manco & Manco. It was shot in 2011, before the name change. Behold, Annette Bening’s left bosom… no, not this NSFW one… this one:
