Screen Shot 2013-05-29 at 7.41.15 AMCatapulted by a terrific night from Jonathan Quick and two goals from former Flyer Justin Williams, the Stanley Cup Champion LA Kings are returning to the Western Conference Finals after beating the Sharks, 2-1, in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals last night. The Kings, who are no doubt missing Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds at this critical juncture, received late two-way contributions from Mike Richards and Jeff Carter. Richards was even doubled-shifted in the final minutes to stave off the Sharks’ attack.

Richards and Carter comprise that toxic and cancerous hockey duo that will now be playing in its fourth conference finals series in six years. And while some Type OB Flyers fans may claim that the pair are merely role players along for the ride in this quest to defend Lord Stanley’s drinking glass, they are the Kings’ top two leading scorers after 13 playoff games:

In other postseason hockey news: Remember that time Richie and Carts went to Chester to see Becks and Becks wasn’t there so Richie and Carts looked sad? Well! Becks was at the Kings game last night, and he took time to pose for this photo with Carts’ girlfriend:
