I’ve been trying to talk myself into the concept of Michael Vick, Starship and QB numero 7 every year since he got here. Maybe this will be the year he finally becomes a complete quarterback who doesn’t do really, really dumb things with the ball. With these weapons around him, the Eagles could really be unstoppable this year. Maybe he’ll stop acting like he’s a superstar and just win football games. Maybe the dog he adopts won’t be a military assassin

And every year, I’m wrong.

But I’m trying to do it again. If there’s one guy for whom Michael Vick is the perfect quarterback, it’s Chip Kelly. And if there’s one guy for whom Chip Kelly is the perfect coach, it’s Michael Vick.

So, how’s that going? Here’s what Vick told Geoff Mosher of CSN Philly yesterdayTo the excerpt machine!

“Hopefully, Chip makes a decision before training camp and we won’t have to answer that question,” Vick told CSNPhilly.com, “so we can go out there as quarterbacks and just focus on this season and not answer questions about competition every day.”

“I won’t want to continue to answer those questions. I won’t continue to answer those questions until Chip makes a decision.”

Asked if tension could mount between he and Foles as the competition plays out this summer, Vick said, “Yeah, but hopefully we’ll have an answer by then, so I’m not going to answer that

“I won’t want to continue to answer those questions. I won’t continue to answer those questions until Chip makes a decision.”

Reminded that Kelly has frequently said no timetable exists for the coaches to make a decision, Vick said, “Then I’m not gonna answer any questions.”

“Why not? Who cares?” he said. “Y’all [in the media] kill me anyway, whether it’s right or wrong.”

A few moments later, Vick was approached again to make sure he understood that his comments were on the record. He responded by asking the reporter to print his request that Kelly settle on a starter before camp to avoid the rampant speculation.

You douche. I am so sick and tired of his I am the greatest act. Like, shame on us for doubting the guy who’s actually accomplished very little of worth in the NFL. Shame on us for being skeptical of a self-congratulating prima donna with history of legal and financial troubles to go along with his on-field inadequacies. Shame on us. It’s just Michael’s world, and we’re all living in it… and, apparently – ballsily – that includes Kelly, who better make a decision by July or else! Is Vick serious with this shit? Better make a decision so you don’t have to answer questions about it? WHO SAYS THAT?! I hate the sometimes non-stop bloviating about the Eagles and so and so said this and let’s debate this position battle, but in this case, all the hot air that gets blown towards Vick is deserved. God. Shut up and play football and then shut up again.
