According to reports, the Sixers, the local NBA team that had their official draft preview on Pinterest, just traded Jrue Holiday to New Orleans for Nerlens Noel, who fell to sixth in the draft, perhaps due to his knee injury. He’s tall, thin and can block shots. The Sixers will send the 42nd overall pick this year and will receive New Orleans’ first round pick next year.

UPDATE: The Sixers selected guard Michael Carter-Williams from Syracuse with their pick at number 11, ostensibly to replace Holiday.

It’s obvious that Sam Hinkie, his massive balls and calculator are rebuilding from the bottom up. So, at this point, you’d think there’s no way they re-sign Andrew Bynum and, instead, COMPLETELY tank with their two first round draft picks in 2014.

In December, Carter-Williams was caught stealing a bathrobe and gloves from Lord & Taylor:

Syracuse University basketball player Michael Carter-Williams was seen shoplifting from Lord & Taylor at Destiny USA late Sunday afternoon and paid the store a $500 fine to settle the matter, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the situation.

Carter-Williams put a bathrobe and gloves into a backpack while in a fitting room, both sources said.

The Sixers are going to be very, very bad next year. But, it seems like they have a plan.

UPDATE 2: The pick the Sixers received from the Pelicans is reportedly top 5 protected, which means the Pelicans would hold onto their pick if they finish in the bottom five and, for the Sixers, it would defer to the next season.

UPDATE 3: Here’s Nerlens Noel tearing his ACL, in February:

UPDATE 4: The Sixers drafted Glen Rice Jr., from the D-League. He was kicked off his Georgia Tech team last year for DUI and discharging a firearm. But he can shoot!

UPDATE 5: The Sixers have traded Glen Rice Jr. to Washington for the 38th and 54th picks.

UPDATE 6: The Sixers took Nate Wolters at 38.
