Pack it up, Joe Amendola. This guy wins.

The George Zimmerman-Trayvon Martin case started today, and since I’m not Nancy Grace, this will likely be the only time it’s ever mentioned on this site. But Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder for killing Martin, an unnarmed black teenager. The case is getting significant attention from all the cable news networks. And it has brought to the forefront yet another discussion about prejudice in this country. So, naturally, Zimmerman’s lawyer, Don West, kicked things off with Knock Knock joke about the difficulty in finding an impartial jury.

Even crickets were offended:

Let me say, I would like to tell you a little joke. I know how that may sound a bit weird in this context under these circumstances. But I think you’re the perfect audience for it. As long as you don’t — if you don’t like it or don’t think it’s funny or inappropriate that you don’t hold it against Mr. Zimmerman. Hold it against me if you want, but not Mr. Zimmerman. I have your assurance you won’t.

Here’s how it goes: Knock knock. Who’s there? George Zimmerman. George Zimmerman who? All right. Good. You’re on the Jury.

Nothing? That’s funny. After what you folks have been through the last two or three weeks.

I literally can’t stop watching the video. Dead silence. Not a peep. Just West dangling in the winds of judgement. Even the prosecutors looked embarrassed for the guy. It’s like West studied the Amendola-Rominger playbook for how to act like an ass in court. Next up: trivia and Pin The Tail On The Donkey! I think Zimmerman is going to jail.

UPDATE: The guy lifted the joke from a Fark headline.
