Screen Shot 2013-07-10 at 3.08.46 PMNot a good week to be a former Philly sports person… unless you’re Andrew Bynum and for some strange reason teams are interested in your (non-)services.

Who had the worst week? Your candidates, sir:

Danny Tartabull

He made over $30 million in his Major League Baseball career, including $2.3 million for seven at-bats with the Phillies. Seven.

He’s a bad person.

From ABC News:

Former Major League Baseball star Danny Tartabull is the “Most Wanted” deadbeat dad in Los Angeles after failing to pay more than $275,000 in child support for his two sons, according to the Los Angeles County Child Support Services.

Tartabull, who hit 262 home runs over his 14-season career, was charged in January 2011 with failing to pay child support for his sons Zach and Quinten. He pleaded no-contest but failed to meet the terms of his probation.

When he failed to show up for his 180-day jail sentence a warrant was issued for his arrest, according to Los Angeles County Child Support Services. The warrant for Tartabull’s arrest has now been out for over a year.

His name and photo were added this week to the new wanted poster issued by L.A. County officials.

Joe Blanton

From Yahoo!:

Los Angeles Angels right-hander Joe Blanton is making a bid for the club’s worst season ever by a starting pitcher after allowing four home runs Tuesday night at Wrigley Field, taking the major league lead in home runs allowed as he continues to move up the all-time list.

The Angels’ 7-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs dropped Blanton to 2-11 with a 5.40 ERA through 18 starts. Blanton has allowed 22 home runs this season and he’s on course to surpass his all-time season high of 30, set with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2009. Could be that a place or two in the Angels’ record book awaits.

There’s no need for hitters to wait out walks against Blanton, because he gives them something early in the count to hit. Despite walking so few batters, Blanton’s WHIP still is sky high because he has allowed 143 hits, the most in the American League.

Tom Heckert

Former Eagles GM and current Broncos director of pro personnel.

From the Denver Post:

If you typed “Broncos” into the search box on Twitter on Tuesday evening, one of the first photos to come up was a police mug shot of Broncos director of pro personnel Tom Heckert, taken after an arrest on DUI charges last month.

As Heckert’s arrest came to light Tuesday afternoon, just one day after news broke that the team’s director of player personnel, Matt Russell, was arrested on DUI charges in Summit County last weekend, the Broncos faced a public relations crisis.

The new Gold(schlager) standard, the Denver Broncos.
