Somewhat good news for Riley Cooper. Roger Goodell told Mike and Mike on ESPN Radio this morning that the league will not take any further action against Cooper, but that he will undergo training of some sort (presumably racial sensitivity training).

Though publicly Eagles players accepted Cooper’s apology, NFL columnist Mike Freeman tweets that one Eagles told him: “Not every player has forgiven. Not by a long shot.” The player told him that white players are as upset as black players, and that some players want Cooper off the team.

Cooper certainly didn’t have a good day at the Kenny Chesney concert, and more reporting is going to come out about what a dick he acted like that entire day. But, at this point, there probably shouldn’t be any more consequences for him. He was fined, shamed and will undergo training. Anything else, from the team or league, would simply be reactionary moves to save face.
