McDonaldsThe Flyers are sending former enforcers Bob Kelly and Todd Fedoruk to the McDonald’s on Oregon Ave. to celebrate its grand (we use that term incredibly loosely) re-opening tomorrow.

This warranted a press release:

Philadelphia Flyers Alumni Bob “The Hound” Kelly and Todd Fedoruk help unveil the new sports-themed lobby of McDonald’s restaurant on Front and Oregon Street in Philadelphia. Kelly and Fedoruk will sign autographs and take photos with Flyers fans and McDonald’s patrons.

The Flyers open the 2013-14 National Hockey League season at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday, October 2 at 7:30 p.m., presented by KIA Motors. Tickets are on sale now by calling 800-298-4200 or visiting PhiladelphiaFlyers.com.

McDonald’s is a proud partner of the Philadelphia Flyers.

But not as proud as Kia(!!!), who is sponsoring the game next Wednesday night.

And while we can make fun of this marketing initiative… it’s nothing compared to the Phillies, who handle Twitter about as well as a blind man handles melted butter:

Credit where it’s due, though: the hot quotient of the pics posted on that hashtag (which I’d never heard of until today) is significantly higher than #SelfieMonday, and it’s not even close. The latter is just an excuse for chicks of all aesthetic abilities to post pictures of themselves looking pissed off… the former has to come with some validation that, yeah, she’s not half bad looking. Digging this.
