Voila_Capture1060DeSean Jackson is in the New York-NJ metro area this weekend doing paid appearances for 106 & Park, which I’ve never heard of and airs on BET. He spoke with Jeff McLane of the Inquirer at Media Day yesterday – where DeSean was again hanging with Lil Terrio – and explained the rationale behind showing up:

“You know I wish I was here playing this game,” Jackson said. “Come on, what kind of question is that, bro? You know me better than that.”

Jackson was at the Prudential Center working for 106 & Park, a hip-hop music video show on the BET Network. It is one of several jobs the receiver is performing during Super Bowl week.

“I’m getting some checks like y’all getting checks,” Jackson joked.

Jackson’s South Philadelphia home was burglarized Jan. 11 and more than $100,000 worth of cash and belongings was stolen. Several days before the burglary, and a day after the Eagles season ended, he told reporters that he thought he deserved a new contract.

Just like we all getting checks.

As mentioned, this particular check comes from BET. Last night on 106 & Park, DeSean shared the rules of the game in a segment called Footballology: “A blitz in football is like when a group of homies see one hot chick and they all try to push up on her at the same damn time.”

Sort of like when you’re battling for the heart of an urban model with the Biebs.
