Speaking reporters this morning, D-Jac said:

AH GAH!

Jackson signed a five-year deal in 2012, which will take him through the 2016 season. He made $6.75 million last season and that number will go up to over $10 million next season. There is little guaranteed money from here on out, however, so some considered this past season a virtual contract year for D-Jac. Last May, Tim McManus wrote the following on Philly Mag:

The way the deal is structured, the Eagles essentially committed to  Jackson for two seasons, paying him $18 million over that time. The rest of the contract is basically filled with option years, and they come at a steep price.

Jackson is slated to make $6.75 million this season ($4 million fully guaranteed), which is the fifth-highest base salary among receivers in ’13, per spotrac.com. That number jumps to $10.25 million in 2014, and hovers around there for the remainder of the deal. That’s right up there with Larry Fitzgerald‘s salary ($12.75). Roddy White‘s take-home for next season is less than half that number.

Jackson is coming off the best season of his career and a week-long love fest with Lil Terrio. His desire for some guaranteed money is understandable, but oh holy shit, only D-Jac would handle it this way. Today, speaking to the media, is not the way to set things in motion.

I totally wasn’t ready for offseason DeSean Jackson yet.
