The Eagles have, strangely, canned Dan Baker as their PA announcer. From the release, via the beat writers:

“The Eagles have decided to make a change in the role and told Baker about the new direction last week. As the game day experience continues to evolve with expanded audio and visual enhancements, the game-telling experience is no longer the responsibility of a single person.”

Interesting. Weird even. The Eagles, and the NFL in general, are trying to change (“enhance”) the in-game experience, and perhaps the old-school Baker didn’t fit into the plan. Don’t love it. Don’t hate it. But today, the day before the draft, was probably a good time to announce it to minimize the outrage since Baker is such a beloved figure.

Last month I reported that the Eagles fired their VP of Event Operations, who was responsible for in-game entertainment. These decisions certainly appear to be related.
