If your whole point of view on the “former Flyers winning the Stanley Cup” thing was “at least they’re out in LA so I don’t have to see it,” you’re going to be pretty bummed: According to the Press of Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort will host the cup a week from this Thursday and Caesars will have it on Friday. The press continues:

“Bringing the Cup will be former Flyers and current Kings forward Justin Williams, former Flyers head coach and Kings assistant John Stevens, and a handful of Kings players.

Both events are open to the public, offering everyone an opportunity to view the Cup along with the Clarence S. Campbell Western Conference Trophy and the Conn Smythe Playoff MVP Award.

Stevens and a handful of Kings teammates will have the trophies at Harrah’s on July 17 at 3:30 p.m. in the lobby. Williams, the Conn Smythe winner, and teammates will be in attendance at Caesar’s on July 18 with the Cup at 4 p.m. in the lobby.”

Justin Williams, who has a house in Ventnor, previously brought the cup to Caesar’s in AC after winning it in 2012, and I assume there will be a comparable number of sad Flyers fans (and sad gamblers who don’t even know what it happening) this time around too. There is no mention of Carter being in AC in the Press, so I’m just going to go ahead and assume he’ll be skipping out on it and heading right to Sea Isle with his new fiancée. Keep your eyes peeled.
