Sort of like a boomerang, if you send enough Flyers away, they’ll eventually come hurtling back… carrying their fine glassware.

We knew that three-time Cup champion Justin Williams would be bringing his prize to Atlantic City. Now we learn, according to the Sea Isle Mayor via this blog post by a Sea Isle realtor, that John Stevens will put the Cup on display for all to see on the 57th Street beach:

On Thursday, July 17th, the Los Angeles Kings Assistant Coach, John Stevens, who owns a home here with his wife, Stacy, will be bringing the Stanley Cup to Sea Isle City! It will be on public display at the 57th Street Beach between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. If it rains on July 17th, the Stanley Cup will be on public display inside the Community Lodge.

Love the balls here. This will be just three days after the Flyers hold their annual Trial on the Isle in Avalon Stone Harbor– a bunch of young prospects, working toward their ultimate goal of winning the Cup. Meanwhile, a town away, the champions.

Also, a few things:

1) This is Stevens’ day with the Cup, but I give it a 98% chance that Jeff Carter, whose house is within four blocks I believe, will be in attendance at some point.

2) This thing has to make an appearance at the OD, or maybe, since it’s Stevens, at Kix.

3) There may be a larger turnout in Sea Isle than there was in Los Angeles.
