Former Flyers and Comcast Spectacor President Peter Luukko has returned to work as the chairman of Philly Sports Holdings LLC. From the release:

Philly Sports Holdings, LLC, an Exton-based, privately-owned holding company that operates Sports Vault and Strategic Sports Marketing, announced today that it has appointed Peter A. Luukko as Chairman of the Board, effective immediately. Mr. Luukko is also an investor in the company, founded in 2012, which specializes in distributing autographed sports memorabilia and organizing exclusive events for sports fans to meet professional athletes.

“I am proud to welcome Peter to our company as both a leader and a principal investor,” said Pat Waters, President and CEO of Philly Sports Holdings. “Peter’s expertise in the professional sports management and marketing arena is unparalleled and he will be a tremendous asset to our leadership team as we pursue our goal of becoming the preeminent company in athlete event services and sports memorabilia retail.”

In his new position, Mr. Luukko will help lead the strategic direction of the company and facilitate key corporate partnerships. In addition, he will play a major role in the launch of Philly Sports Holdings’ “Sports Vault Access”, a platform providing sports fans with unparalleled access to athletes through unique events and meet-and-greet opportunities. “Sports Vault Access” is expected to launch in September 2014.

Meanwhile, over at the Wells Fargo Center, current Flyers President Paul Holmgren is still trying to navigate his way around Luukko’s old Rolodex. So, do I take a picture of the name cards to dial, or just spin the wheel real hard?

Full disclosure: Sports Vault is a longtime CB advertiser, so I think Luukko makes a great addition to the company!!! And have I mentioned the opportunity to meet Phillies legends including Roy Halladay and Darren Daulton at the Philadelphia Sports Card and Memorabilia Show on September 27? Because this seems like a great time to mention the opportunity to meet Phillies legends including Roy Halladay and Darren Daulton at the Philadelphia Sports Card and Memorabilia Show on September 27!
