We all know this Sixers season is going to be … interesting. That’s a given. The team is at the beginning of a long rebuild, and we’re still a few years away (hopefully) from any real success, but this still feels a bit insulting. According to Vegas oddsmakers, the 76ers have the worst odds at the NBA Championship and the worst projected win total. And it’s not even close.

Oddsmakers Bovada have the 76ers chances of winning the championship at 500/1, which sounds fine and accurate, but no other team’s odds are worse than 300/1 (where it’s a three-way tie between T’Wolves, Bucks, and Jazz). And in Westgate SuperBook’s projected win totals, they’ve got the Sixers at 15.5 — much nicer than USA Today‘s prediction — but the next lowest win total is the Milwaukee Bucks with 24.5, a whole nine games better than the Sixers.

It’s going to be a long season, but I figure the odds Sam Hinkie worries the most about are the odds that the NBA will change the lottery rules before next year’s draft.
