In other news: Baby, it’s cold outside.

Agent bullhorn Jon Heyman* says “a person familiar with the situation” – likely Ruben Amaro, Dodgers GM Farhan Zaidi, Jimmy Rollins’ agent or Jimmy Rollins – tells him that Rollins would accept a trade to the filthy rich, very good, plays-in-desirable-locale Dodgers. This, somehow, is a news thing:

Longtime Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins is said to be willing to consent to be traded to the Dodgers if the teams could work things out. It isn’t known how likely a Rollins deal is with the Dodgers, but a person familiar with the situation said there’s at least some chance it could happen.

It isn’t known how involved the teams may be at this point. The Dodgers need a shortstop after Hanley Ramirez left to Boston via free agency.

Rollins, the Phillies alltime hit leader who has 10-and-5 veto rights, is said to be approving very few teams. The Mets were one team he is known to have turned down, and sources say he also would not approve his hometown Oakland A’s.

Jimmy would love Hollywood.

*Nothing against Heyman. He’s good. But, you know.
