Before the Sixers’ win at home against the Cavs the other night, South Philly’s own Dion Waiters was announced as a starter. It was his first start since the season’s third game, and it happened in front of his hometown crowd and his “too many to count” friends and family. And then, with 1:30 left on the clock before tipoff, Waiters was taken to the locker room because he’d been traded to the Thunder.

It was surely a weird situation for Waiters and his family. But how did he take it? Just fine it seems, as he was hanging with Meek Mill after the game, with Mill doing “the Birdman hand rub” when talking to Waiters about his new squad.

As far as trades go, it doesn’t suck going from a 19-16 team to a 17-18 team, both of whom will likely make the playoffs. From LeBron to KD. Plus, with Waiters out of the lineup (and off the team), we’re sure his family and friends could fully enjoy that Sixers win.
