When we spoke to Scott O’Neil just as the Sixers’ season was getting underway, he talked about giving back to the fans who are sitting through this dreck. And after the Sixers beat the Cavs for their first home win of the season in front of a reported crowd of 17,771, O’Neil back it up.

According to the Sixers subreddit, people at that game (those who purchased their tickets through the Sixers, I’m assuming) got the following email:

What an amazing sight last night! 18,000 Sixers fans standing, screaming and cheering for the last 2 minutes and 47 seconds of the game! That’s passion. That’s devotion. That’s why Philadelphia is the greatest sports town in the world. We thrive on your energy.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for believing in us. We are proud to play for you. You care more and want it more than any fans in the NBA. And we love you for it.

This is a small token of our appreciation. We have two free tickets for you. Pick any game. Bring your passion. Bring your voice. I can’t wait to stand with you!

Go Sixers,

Scott O’Neil

We will follow-up with you this week with details on how to redeem your tickets.

The Sixers have five wins on the season, but your average Sixers game has more excitement than those last two Eagles games and the last four to five months of Phillies baseball rolled together. [Editor’s note: The Cowboys loss sucked, but it wasn’t lacking in excitement. I disagree with my underling.] My advice? You already saw a win, use that free ticket on checking out Anthony Davis in person when the Pelicans come to town on the 16th. Dude is not normal.
