Murder trials are serious business. The most serious business. But Aaron Hernandez’s lawyer is using his client’s murder trial to make lame, terrible, late, and out-of-place #deflategate jokes.

Hernandez’s lawyer James Sultan, while questioning a Massachusetts State Trooper about tire tracks, mentioned that the trooper had specialized training in tire deflation devices. In the video over here, you can watch as a shit-eating grin comes across his face as he follows up with: “Did you ever receive training in football deflation devices?” The trooper answers “no.” There is silence.

CBS Boston followed up today, saying that Judge Susan Garsh told Sultan that “we are here on very serious business,” and Sultan apologized. The idiocy surrounding this just adds one more piece of evidence to the ongoing sentiment: Go Screw, Boston.
