I did a spit-take when I read this dumb Tweet from slightly underachieving Nova vet JayVaughn Pinkston, apparently criticizing bandwagon Villanova fans. Truly a baffling take. I’m not even sure what would compel someone to tweet this, especially if you kind of represent the myth of underachieving Villanova what with the team’s failure to advance past the first weekend during your five years at the school. Five years, because the first one was spent on the bench thanks to assault charges after a fight at a frat party. Nova scuffled for a few years there in part because Pinkston never quite lived up to his potential, and now he’s complaining about interest in the team, which has improved in his absence and ascended to number one in the country for the first time in school history? Come on.

Maalik Wayns retweeted Pinkston and tweeted another dig at fans, but I think the latter may be referring to fans in Italy, where he is now playing because leaving Nova after three years for the NBA was a bad idea:
