Patrick Murray and his fiancee, Lauren, are getting married on February 29th. It is the day Lauren will become a Murray. You might say she’s getting Murray’d (I laughed).

I’ll let Pat explain it:

Why are the eagles still a top class organization that cares about their fans?

My fiancé and I are getting married this month. February the 29th. A leap year.

For our invites we used a Murray jersey with 29 symbolizing the date of our wedding because we’re huge fans…

Now, while I could think of just about any other Philly athlete I’d want as the central theme of my wedding*, this was a great, unique idea for an invite if you’re an Eagles fan and your wife is a good sport about this sort of thing. Pat sent the Eagles a letter about the invite, and what they did next was pretty awesome:

The eagles actually sent us a letter wishing us the best of luck in our marriage…

On top of that they also sent us a signed demarco Murray jersey…

It made our soon to be wedding already that much better… Murray 29 was going to mean something before… now it’s even more special.

Something like this being done deserves to be shared with the public since whenever they mess up people seem to jump down their throats…

Go. Eagles.

OK. That got me. Class move here by an organization which, as Pat touched on, often gets accused of being disconnected from its fans (though I think that perception has rightfully changed in recent years).

Warm feels all around. And congrats to Pat and Lauren! Especially Pat, who will have to remember his anniversary only once every four years.

*My wife nixed my suggestion of Chase Utley Through The Years, which would have consisted of each member of the bridal party coming out dressed as Chase and Jen Utley during different stages of their marriage, in order, such as Short-Haired Young Chase, Curly-Winged Punk Rocker-era Chase, World Fucking Champion Chase, 2009 World Series Chase (this simply would’ve been one of the groomsmen carrying a large dildo), Hobbled By Knee Injuries Chase, Greying Chase, Traded Chase, and Ruben Tejada’s Broken Leg Chase. Jen would’ve looked more or less the same throughout. Alas. We didn’t have that many friends… and I can’t imagine why.
