Dolphins trade: The Eagles sent Byron Maxwell and Kiko Alonso to the Dolphins and the two teams will exchange first round picks, moving the Eagles up from 13 to 8.

Analysis: The Eagles unload Maxwell (+) and free up cap space (+) and move up five spots in the first round (+). They’ll lose Kiko Alonso (+-) – whom I think still had upside and was very low-risk, high-reward given the fact that he made less than $1 million and would’ve been a free agent at the end of the year – but this is a net win for the Eagles.

DeMarcy Murray trade: The Eagles will reportedly send DeMarco Murray to the Titans and the two teams will swap fourth round picks, moving the Eagles up to the start of the fourth round.

Analysis: Nothing to argue here. Murray is gone (+) and the Eagles will save money (+). Moving up a few spots in the fourth round is just a bonus (+).

Chase Daniel signing: The Eagles will reportedly sign Chase Daniel to a three-year, $21 million deal with $12 million guaranteed.

Analysis: He’ll back up Sam Bradford (+-). This likely spells the end for Mark Sanchez (+-). Daniel has some upside (+) and was with Doug Pederson with the Chiefs (+-). Pederson thinks he could someday be a starter (+-). This is a lot of money for a backup (-) and it lends some credence to the notion that the Eagles could trade Sam Bradford. (+-).

Rodney McLeod signing: The Eagles signed Rodney McLeod to a five-year, $37 million contract with $17 million guaranteed.

Analysis: McLeod is a mid-high level safety (+) who’s young (+) with upside (+) and hits hard (+). Pro Football Focus considers him one of the top 10 safeties in the league (+). But keep in mind that recent secondary signings by the Eagles have included names like Nnamdi Asomugha, Cary Williams, Byron Maxwell, Bradley Fletcher, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Asante Samuel (-). So consider me just a bit jaded with secondary signings.

Leodis McKelvin signing: Yesterday the Eagles signed former Bills cornerback Leodis McKelvin.

Analysis: He was released by the Bills (-) and is a slightly above average (+-) but versatile (+) cornerback, who is 30 (-). Some think his signing has more upside than downside (+).

Brandon Brooks signing: The Eagles will reportedly sign former Texans guard Brandon Brooks to a five-year, $40 million deal.

Analysis: Brooks is a large (+), durable (+) starter and helps solidify what was an inconsistent offensive line (+). We’ll wait to see exact terms before judging, but this looks to be a solid addition.

Nigel Bradham signing: The Eagles will reportedly sign former Bills linebacker Nigel Bradham to a two-year deal.

Analysis: He’s only 26 (+) and will fill the spot voided by Kiko Alonso (+-).

Ron Brooks signing: The Eagles signed former Bills cornerback Ron Brooks to a three-year deal.

Analysis: I look forward to the Jim Schwartz-only-likes-Bills narrative (-) like we got with Chip Kelly and Oregon. Brooks is a warm-bodied cornerback (-).
