According to Adam Schefter, the long-rumored signing of Chase Daniel is complete, in principle. Daniel played under Doug Pederson in Kansas City and – depending on how you look at it – comes in as either a backup to Bradford or the Eagles’ QB of the future.

In 55 career games, Daniel has a QBR of 80.2, and has thrown for 464 yards to go along with … uh … one touchdown and one interception over 77 pass attempts. It’s unlikely the move will prevent the Eagles from drafting a QB this year (or next), but Mark Sanchez is probably gone. Pederson recently said he thinks Daniel can be a starter in the NFL:

“I think Chase, given an opportunity, yes, I think he can be (a starting quarterback). People that have worked with him for the last three years know that he has an opportunity there and hopefully he gets his chance.”

He’ll get his chance to at least fight for his spot (or start if/when Bradford gets hurt) under Pederson.
