St. Joe’s forward DeAndre Bembry – who looks like you hit random on your NBA2K create-a-player – has officially declared for the NBA draft. Under the NBA’s new rules, a player can declare for the draft and pull back after the combine if they haven’t hired an agent, but Bembry has hired representation so he will not be returning to St. Joe’s.

In a statement, Bembry said:

“St. Joe’s has been absolutely awesome and I’ll always love the fans, players, and coaching staff. Coach [Phil] Martelli and his staff have been absolutely great for me but now it’s time to start this new chapter. I appreciate all the love and support so much and definitely hope it continues in the future. The NBA has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and now that it’s within reach, I plan on taking full advantage of the opportunity.”

Bembry won A-10 and Big 5 player of the year honors this year and is currently listed as Draft Express’ 35th overall prospect (though he’s at pick #32 on their mock draft).
